About
Antler and Oak Art is the creation of Emmy Hunter (Hi, that’s me)! I specializes in acrylic paintings. My most popular service is live painting for weddings and events — a perfect way to capture your big day. I also offer in-studio portraits, paintings, and bourbon bottle art.
On this page, you'll find out more about the story behind Antler and Oak Art. Find out how I started my artistic journey, what drives my creativity, and who is behind the brush.
My name is Emmy Hunter
Art has always been a passion of mine. My creative side started with a love for baking and decorating, but I soon began to explore other artistic outlets. As I grew, my love for drawing and painting soon took center stage. Since the age of 12, I have preferred a paintbrush more than anything else! Fun fact about me: the extent of my art education is a single college drawing course I took at EKU while in highschool (art 100), which led to me meeting my now husband! After High school, I took a small hiatus from art and pursued other opportunities. It wasn’t until after giving birth to my daughter and becoming a stay-at-home mom that I found myself returning to art. I realized I wanted to keep creating and keep my passion for art alive. I began bottle paintings in 2023. It started as a house-warming gift and it grew into a business. I was unexpectedly introduced to the wedding industry in 2024 by one of my clients. Lori Gambrel, a wonderful wedding planner, pushed me to give live event painting a try. I took a leap of faith and found a side of art I did not know existed. Since then, live painting has become one of my favorite things! If I am not painting, then I am likely taking care of my two beautiful children, enjoying the great outdoors with my husband and kiddos, or preparing some kind of sweet treat in the kitchen.
